Islamabad : Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) Tuesday decided to consider initiative on the challenge of registration of a generic basis for all single-component medicine in consultation with suitable stakeholders.
In this regard DRAP’s Division of Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Registration has sought an viewpoint from stakeholders on generic medicines, an formal of DRAP reported.
He mentioned that DRAP’s initiative on this matter is in compliance with the law for generic medications like the Medicines Act 1976 and principles framed there underneath which is element of the DRAP Act 2012 beneath Plan -VI.

He said that DRAP has conveyed the grievance of the masses that was submitted as a result of the Primary Minister Implementation Supply Device (PIMU) Portal by requesting the provincial governments to build a system for prescription of generic medicines in coordination with the Healthcare Commission, Pakistan Health-related Affiliation (PMS), Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA), Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association and other folks deemed match by the provincial governments.
